    Single-component liquid waterproofing system for roofs, decks and balconies.

    Water-based coating formulated on the basis of special resins for sealing flat surfaces. RD-Elastodeck is very easy to use and can be applied in less than a day under favorable climatic conditions. Very efficient, it can be used on on many substrates such as old bituminous roofing, fiber cement tiles or concrete.

    RD-Elastodeck is a reliable liquid waterproofing system that can be used for a wide variety of projects. When applied in the prescribed thicknesses, RD-Elastodeck will procure a durable waterproofing solution. It can be combined with other RD Coatings products to off er additional functionalities to the system such as: colour effects, IR & UV reflection, traffic resistance, etc.

    On flat roofs, areas with stagnating water, seams or cracks, the use of RD-Roof Fleece is recommended as it will highly increase the durability of the system. Using this solution is incredibly simple and won’t slow down the installation process.

    Very good adhesion to:

    • old bitumen
    • concrete and cement
    • aged flexible PVC and EPDM (after dilution)
    • wood
    • old painted surfaces
    • etc.

    Description of the product

    USE: 

    Single-component liquid waterproofing system for roofs, decks and balconies.

    FEATURES:

    Water-based coating based on special resins for the waterproofing of flat surfaces. RD-Elastodeck is very easy to use and can be applied in less than a day in favourable weather conditions. Very effective, it can be applied over a broad range of different type of substrates including old bitumen roofs or fibre-cement. It’s an excellent waterproofing system for small ‘til large scale projects. When renovating a flat surface, using RD-Roof Fleece is strongly recommended and will extend considerably the lifespan of the system.

    RD-Elastodeck is water-based, easy to handle, safe and has no fire risks.
    It is a fast-drying coating system that greatly reduces downtime during installation.
    Virtually odour free, it does not affect neighbouring occupants and can therefore be used in occupied buildings. 

    RD-Elastodeck is UV resistant and is meant to be applied as primer and finishing coat. It should be top coated by other RD Coatings systems in case the surface will be subject to wear like foot or car traffic. Its permanent 200% elasticity enables it to adhere even on flexible or soft surfaces like roofing. It is a Dry Fall coating; any overspray turns into dry dust and can easily be removed.

    RD-Elastodeck is part of the SCS – Single Coating System - product group.

    Weathered EPDM and PVC membranes:

    Apply a first coat of RD-Elastodeck diluted with 25% water as primer.

    Because of various qualities of membranes on the market, always perform an adhesion test first.

    Indicated consumption is theoretical and does not consider potential losses during application. It can also be influenced by the porosity of the substrate.

    Application instructions

    APPLICATION CONDITIONS:

    Ambient temperature: minimum 5° C (41°F) – Optimal between 12° and 25°C (54° and 77°F).
    Relative humidity: maximum 80 %
    Surface temperature must be minimum 3°C (5°F) above dew point.

    APPLICATION MEANS:

    Brush, roller or airless (nozzle size: 015–023)
    Application by airless is recommended and makes it easier to reach the recommended thicknesses. Use a device that allows a minimum pressure of 180 bar / 2600 psi at the outlet.

    PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE:

    The surface must be clean, dust-free and dry.

    In case of mosses on the support, remove it with a special anti-moss product.
    Repair cracks using RD-ACRYL W.

    Use RD-CEMENT FILLER to perform concrete repairs.

    ATTENTION: for all types of supports, the interior spaces must be equipped with steam barriers and sufficient roof ventilation to avoid the formation of condensation under the roof covering.

    Sufficient slope must be provided to the waterways to collect rainwater.

    DILUTION:

    Product is ready-for-use. Otherwise dilute with water on porous or smooth surfaces or when applying in warm weather conditions (> 25°C / > 77°F).

    DRYING TIME (20°C - 68°F):

    Touch dry: +/- 3 hours
    Recoatable: +/- 6 hours depending on the thickness.

    SPECIFICITIES:

    Mix well before use.
    RD-Elastodeck has a very high hiding power, it may be advisable in some cases to use a different colour for the first and second coat for better recognition.
